This week has been tough! It’s been really hard to find the highlights, but where there’s darkness, there’s always the light peeking through somewhere. Here we go…
1) Distance
Sometimes even though your life is pretty uncomplicated and drama-free, the people in your life are just full of drama and it’s funny how much you hear said people when they need something from you, isn’t it? Try as I might, I often can’t avoid getting dragged into other people’s drama. But thankfully I am able to put some distance between myself and the people in my life that just can’t seem to get it together and be normal. Having this physical distance (hundreds of miles) and the ability to turn off my cell phone has allowed me to just check out from hotel crazy and only be available on my time. Thank goodness for that!
2) Juicing
I broke out my Montel Williams HealthMaster this week (it’s been in my pantry for almost to years) and started juicing! The HealthMaster does not juice in the normal sense, leaving behind a bunch of pulp and just giving you juice, rather it is a whole food juicer. Basically, it’s a bad-ass super blender that purees the entire fruit or veggie so you get all of the good stuff out of your produce!
3) New beauty goodies!
I am a total hair/beauty product addict! Recently, I tried to economize my hair routine. I was spending $25 each on mousse and hairspray each time I purchased it. Well, I tried several different products to replace these two in hopes of saving some money and nothing worked as well, so I am back to my older, more expensive hair habits. drybar makes two AMAZING products that I simply cannot do without…
drybar Southern Belle volumizing mousse – This clean cotton scented miracle mousse gives me tons of volume without the weight or stickiness that I often get with other mousses. It also gives my style some staying power, so I end up using less hairspray. Love love LOVE this stuff!!!

drybar Money Maker flexible hold hairspray – This lightly scented spray is perfect for layering on top of other products because it isn’t heavy or sticky of stiff. I keep it in my purse to poof up my roots during the day and it works similarly to a dry shampoo in that it refreshes my style. I can’t leave home without this little can of wonderfulness!
I also ran across Hard Candy’s Top Ten Trendsetters eye shadow palette in “Guilty Pleasures” at Walmart of all places. I usually avoid Walmart like the plague, but this shimmery palette caught my eye and I just had to buy it! It was only $6 too! I am no stranger to paying $15 for one pot of eye shadow, so this palette is the deal of the century in my book! Each shade is super shimmery and the pigment is no joke!
4) More Garden Goodness!
This week, we got our first cucumbers from the garden! I planted 20 Boston pickling cucumber plants and they have all flourished! I guess I better brush up on my pickling skills 🙂

5) Me Time
This week has been INSANE! Every part of life that could be hectic has been and I may have the opportunity to have some “ME” time this weekend. Thank the Lord! I usually prefer to not be alone, but I have the feeling that I wouldn’t be that much fun to be around at the moment and I think a little solo trip to the new Asheville outlet mall is in order for this g’all!
No matter how stressful, I hope you all found at least 5 positive things to reflect upon this week and that you all have a wonderful weekend!
